To ensure that your loco's are wired up correctly and so all run the same way (especially useful if you run them on someone elses layout !!), use the following procedure courtesy David Hart.
Get out your transformer and connect up some loose cables - invert your loco so that wheels are uppermost.
Apply the positive to the left hand side and the negative do the righthand side,and viewed from the righthand side the wheels rotate clockwise.
If you've got track laid, then positive to left and negative to right, and loco goes away from you.
